Hi there: Your Stream 13 have on board RAM (4gb max – currently present) & eMMC drive on board. Both can’t be upgraded.

The Good. The inexpensive HP Stream 14 is an attractive, lightweight 14-inch Windows laptop with a long battery life and performance good enough for basic productivity and streaming media. Plenty of expansion ports. Includes 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage and Office 365 Personal for one year.

The Stream 11 and its 32GB eMMc storage performed acceptably on the Laptop Mag File Transfer test, where it copied 4.97GB of mixed media files in just 1 minute and 1 second. That’s a rate of 50.38 MBps, which is comfortably ahead of the 100S (43.5 MBps) but well behind the Dell Inspiron 14 3000 (69.72 MBps).

If during the log gathering your PC was not busy with background tasks, these temps are high and may get higher if PC gets overloaded. On the other side, this can cause problems. Your storage drive is HDD – 5400 RPM which is old and slow as a model. From software aspect, you have lots of background programs running.

Everything is soldered to the motherboard….the CPU, RAM and hdd all three so the only way to upgrade would be to replace the motherboard which will cost more than the computer did.

Distinguished. On tablets you can’t upgrade anything – pretty much everything is soldered into the mainboard. The only thing you can upgrade is the secondary storage by adding a micro SXHD card.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with the eMMC. It is indeed soldered to the motherboard, and non upgradable or able to be switched to a standard SSD.

The key difference is that the HP Chromebook is a more powerful laptop, and with budget models, that power means quite a lot. The only way that the Stream is the better choice is that it uses the Windows operating system, which is many people’s preference.

The memory (RAM) and Internal Storage (eMMC memory) is embedded and not able to be upgraded on the HP Stream devices. All you have the option to do is add an SD Card, which won’t solve your problem. You’re limited to removing Apps or other files you do not use regularly to free up space.

A: Yes, you can Netflix and prime. You can also do zoom and open multiple tabs.

How can I improve my HP Stream?
