If you have a notebook stored locally on your computer that you wish to move to the cloud, go to File > Share in OneNote and pick a web location such as OneDrive, and then click Move Notebook. OneNote will upload the notebook to OneDrive and set up direct sync.

In the old notebook, right-click a section tab and choose Move or Copy. Choose the new notebook from the list of notebooks, and choose Move. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all the sections are in the new notebook.

Open the notebook that you wish to move. Right-click on the notebook name and click Properties. Click on Change Location and select the folder where you want to move this notebook to.

On Windows 10, the Backup folder for your notebooks is located at C:Usersuser nameAppDataLocalMicrosoftOneNoteversionBackup. On Windows Vista, the Backup folder for your notebooks is located at C:Usersuser nameAppDataMicrosoftOneNote12.0Backup.

Open the notebook that you want to move, click File > Share, and then choose the OneDrive or SharePoint location where you want to save your notebook. Click Move Notebook.

One way to export your OneNote notebooks to another account is to grant access to the notebook through OneDrive to another Microsoft account, then copy the notebook in that account to take ownership of the notebook. This keeps the new copy of the notebook independent of the original shared notebook.

Similarly, to convert a OneNote file into Word (. docx) file, select the Word Document (*. docx) under Select Format options. As mentioned earlier, unlike PDFs, you can only export pages and sections of a OneNote file as Word documents.

You can create a PDF out of your OneNote page by going to File > Export and then choosing the PDF format from the list of options on the right. The File > Export dialog does not have a settings section to turn off the footer but you can do this by using the Print Preview dialog which controls the same footer format.
