Procreate is now a designer app essential on ipad : allows everything creative budding, designers et artists to make the most beautiful drawings. Today I teach you how to duplicate in procreate.
How to duplicate a layer in Procreate?
There are several techniques for duplicater a layer over Procreate.
Duplicate a layer in the layer stack
The first method, which I explain in my article how to copy and paste in Procreate, is to slide your finger over your layer to duplicater, going to the left. Three buttons appear: Lock, double, Remove. Click on double.
Duplicate a sheet layer
The other method is, from your sheet (make sure you are on the correct layer to duplicater), sliding three fingers across the screen. A set of options appears: Cut / Copier /Copy all/ double / cut and necklace / necklace. Choose the option that suits you best.
How to duplicate a brush in Procreate?
Procreate also allows you to duplicate your brushes, so you can create new ones from existing brushes. To do this, nothing could be easier: access the brush library and, as if to duplicate a layer, slide your finger to the left over the brush to be duplicated: the duplicate button appears. This allows you to copy an existing brush.
For more information on customizing brushes, go to my How to Create a Brush in Procreate article.
How to use clone tool in Procreate?
The clone tool is a tool, like the clone stamp in Photoshop, that allows you to reproduce the content of the image elsewhere in the image.
For example, you want to copy a material that is already present in the image. To do this, go to the Settings menu (magic wand), then click the Clone button at the bottom. A small circle appears – place it on the area to be duplicated. Then, with your stylus, click on the area of the image where you want to duplicate this content. You can, like every time you use the brush, choose which brush shape to reproduce the material with (just choose it from the brush library). As if by magic, the content is duplicated in this other area.
