Draw the viewer’s attention to a part of the image

Here is a very simple and easy technique which helps to draw the viewer’s attention to a part of the image making it look like a photographic print with photoshop cs4.

Import your image into photoshop

Take the rectangle tool and draw a square in the party where you want draws attention

Maintain the Ctrl key press and click on the layer you just made to have the rectangle selection

Select the layer of your image and make a copy / paste (Ctrl + C / Ctrl + V) always leaving the selection active

Then click on the little eye next to the white rectangle layer to hide it

Now select layer 1 ( copy / paste) and apply the merge optionsfollowing

Then select the base layer (base image) and go to Menu> Image> Adjustments> Desaturation (Ctrl + Shift + U)

To finish go to Menu> Filter> Attenuation> Gaussian Blur

the size of the image used in this tutorial is 500 × 436 pixel the radius of the Gaussian blur varies according to the size of the image.
